A big part of the problem

From the wonderful “Overheard in a newsroom” service:

Reporter doing a phone interview: “Please slow down, professor. You’ve been researching this topic for a decade. I’ve been researching it since lunchtime.”

  1. You could look at it in a positive light. Rather than copying other news reports like a parrot or using questionably accurate sources, this reporter is going directly to the source of the research and asking for an education opinion.

  2. “Class M”? really? How old are you? LOL.

Almost as big a joke as Global Warming errrrrrrrrrrrrrr AGW errrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Climate Change errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Climate disruption errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr whatever.

  3. They’ve been discussing this for days over at RealClimate. Last time I checked, they were up to 80 comments. Probably a bit late to catch up—and given the level of discourse displayed by the Captain in #2, probably not worth trying.

  4. Hmm. Looks like RealClimate has also created a “Bore Hole” section where it can sequester the poo flinging monkeys. Pretty good idea, if you ask me.

Anyway, the reporter’s comment is compact, humorous, and to the point. Communicating with the public is a different kind of expertise.
